The Arctic and Northern Sovereignty workstream will focus on how the federal government can strengthen its capacity to act in a region of growing strategic, economic, environmental, and security importance. 

It will examine the governing structures, decision-making processes, partnerships, and delivery capabilities needed to advance Canada’s long-term interests in the Arctic and North. This includes improving coordination across departments and orders of government, working more effectively with Indigenous governments and Northern communities, and ensuring that federal action is responsive to the realities of the region. 

It will identify practical reforms to help government move from ambition to implementation on priorities related to sovereignty, security, infrastructure, resilience, and sustainable development.
