Our Work
Digital Government & AI
Arming public servants with the right digital tools and governance capacity to do its job more efficiently and productively.
The Digital Government and Artificial Intelligence workstream will focus on how the federal government can build needed capabilities to use digital technology and AI effectively and responsibly. The workstream will examine practical reforms that help government modernize service delivery, improve internal decision-making, and keep pace with technological change, while maintaining public trust, accountability, and democratic oversight.
Rather than treating AI as a standalone technology issue, this workstream will look at modernized governance capabilities that allow it to adopt and utilize these new tools. That includes clearer rules, stronger digital skills, better procurement, more effective data governance, and the ability to test and scale solutions safely.
The goal is to identify practical recommendations that strengthen the public service’s ability to deliver faster, more responsive, and more reliable services for Canadians in an increasingly digital environment.
Research and Recommendations
Research and recommendations from this workstream will identify practical steps to help the federal government adopt and utilize AI and digital tools responsibly. The focus will be on how to strengthen internal capacity and improve service delivery while demonstrating accountability, transparency, and public trust.
